• A wholesale destruction: The Delhi riots 2020 have left behind a mangled mass of broken trust, destroyed hopes, and scarred minds. The State is displaying little compassion, and individual citizens have had to open up their hearts and homes for the unlucky ones.
• Scared of even seeking help: Muslims with bullets lodged in their bodies refused to go to govt. hospitals, fearing insults and contempt. Officials coming to collect information (to offer compensation) are given nothing fearing it is for the NPR, and will disenfranchise them.
• Who are the culprits: The biggest culprit is undoubtedly the entire political class. The ruling regime openly stoked communal passions, upset as it was with the unprecedented resictance to their favourite citizenship project. But other politicians too just stood and watched. They lacked any moral courage. 
• The Delhi Police: It is the largest force in India, after J&K police. Had it decided so, the riots could have been crushed in a few hours. But it went on for days together. When riots raged, the Police refused to let ambulances ferry the injured to hospitals!
• National anthem: Since this has become a symbol of resistance against the CAA, the police took pleasure in beating wounded Muslim men and forcing them to sing it. One of them died.
• Role of constitutional court: The Delhi High Court did order passage of ambulances, and arrest of top BJP leaders for hate speech, but the judge was transferred (and then the orders changed). 
• Medical establishment: There are reports of massive manipulations in the post-mortem reports. Doctors need to think how they have allowed so much communal poison to be injected into them.
• National Commissions of Nothingness: There are several National Commissions that must step in urgently in such situations, but they are not found! Some examples: the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), NC for Minorities, NC for Protection of Child Rights, etc.
• State govt.: It could have started large-scale relief work, which it did not.
• A dangerous direction: This riot has shown the wholesale collapse of all the institutions that were mandated with helping the victims. If this continues, India's hope of becoming a country of kindness and justice may well be written off.
• Summary : The Delhi riots 2020 have shown how institutions can abandon the needy victims, when needed the most.
