• ENGLISH ANALYSIS

• The global war on terror was launched by the US in 2001, and twenty years later, it has produced severely mixed results (as evidenced in the return of the Taliban in 2021)
• The world is less safe now, than it was earlier, as the disease of transnational terrorism has spread everywhere
• The blunder of US in August 2021, allowing the Taliban to take over, may have sown the seeds for the next 9/11 (some suspect)
• Biden will be rememberd for helping make the Taliban great again, as the confusing chain of events shows (a huge, long war ending in such disgrace)
• Violent Islamists are having their best day of victory in a long saga of violence, as the mightiest military was forced to withdraw from Afghanistan (the defeat of "Great Satan" will inspire other Islamists everywhere)
• India lost in a big way in this drama, as it lies right next to the Afghanistan-Pakistan belt, right when it is countering an expansionist China on the border
• Biden's plan includes a withdrawal from Iraq also, in an end to the era of major military operations to "remake other countries"
• But allies like Taiwan to Ukraine are scared now, of being abandoned brutally
• A retired official Robert Gates has mentioned that Joe Biden has not been able to get major foreign policy decisions right over time
• A letter recovered from the compound of Osama bin Laden (after he was killed) said of Biden that if he would become President one day, it'd be good for terrorists as he did not understand the dynamics (and will lead the US into a crisis)
• Biden has overlooked the lessons from 9/11, as evidenced in his good terrorists (the Taliban) versus bad terrorists (IS-K, al Qaeda, Haqqani network) categorisation
• In reality, the Taliban freed ISIS-K prisoners from jails
• But Biden does understand the reality, and is downplaying it to minimise the public relations damage from emerging situation
• Secretary of State Anthony Blinken has publicly claimed US would work with the Taliban on counter-terrorism
• But 9/11 taught an enduring lesson that the viper reared against one state is a viper against others (so terrorist cells must be targeted everywhere relentlessly)
• All terror groups are interconnected, as UN Security Council reports have indicated
• The Taliban have not uttered a word against al Qaeda (after August 2021) and claim that there's no proof Bin Laden carried out 9/11
• The new government in Taliban clearly shows the interlinked nature of the Taliban and the Haqqani network
• Even the ISIS-Khorasan has very little in common with the ISIS that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi had founded; it draws its cadres from the Haqqani network!
• It is certain that Afghanistan will become a haven for international terror groups now; the PM there was responsible for the destruction of Bamiyan Buddhas!
• Geopolitcs-driven war on terror has failed
• It is time to urgently form an international consensus to battle terrorism everywhere
• And the first step in that strategy has to be to not coddle terror-supporting regimes
